Happy World Hijab Day!
"It is not the cloth that oppresses women, it is the illiterate mind" -anononymous

Hijab is the headscarf Muslim women wear, signalling much more than just cloth. It symbolizes a step in the path of modesty. A Muslim is a follower of Islam, and I am beyond proud to be one. As I've said numerous times before, wearing a hijab has given me confidence and inspired me so much physically, spiritually, and fashionably. If you're a non-hijab wearer (Muslim or not!), you can support this day by wearing a hijab for a day today or tomorrow or anytime this week (hey, it's the thought that counts, right?) or by posting about it with the hashtag #WorldHijabDay2015 or #WorldHijabDay. I met Ibtihaj Muhammad at a convention where she spoke about healthy living; afterwards I had the honor to give her a hug and tell her how cool she is to have the courage to deal with so many tough situations but never give up on wearing the hijab! Phew. What an inspiration to us women.

With that being said, whether you're celebrating World Hijab Day or not, I hope your first day of February has been wonderful and you're ready for a good month. Don't give up on the weather yet because-
Life is Spontaneously Splendid.
